GWS at the IIOA Conference in Glasgow
From July 2nd to 5th, the 27th IIOA Conference takes place in Gloasgow (Scotland). The GWS participates with several contributions:
Anett Großmann presents results from the meetPASS project, which analyses the implications of the Paris Agreement (COP21) at the global level and for Austria with regard to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Christian Lutz shows project results dealing with the macroeconomic effects of the energy transition in the past (ex post) and in future (ex ante). Furthermore, he explains how the rebound effect can be implemented into INFORUM models such as PANTA RHEI ("How to catch the rebound effect in interindustry modelling"). Further project information can be found under "ReCap" and "Macroeconomic effects and distribution issues of the energy system transformation".
Anke Mönnig contributes an article on the growth and employment effects of electromobility in Germany ("Electromobility 2035 – Effects on the economy and employment through electrification of the powertrain of passenger cars"). The QINFORGE model, which depicts the labour market in detail, was applied to calculate the results. In the organized session "Demographic shifts and economic modelling" Ms. Mönnig presents the details of labour market modelling.
