Jan Plassenberg completed his studies in Economics and History (B.A.), as well as Economics (M.Sc.) at the University of Osnabrück in 2022. His thematic focus was on environmental & behavioral economics, monetary economics and data science.
During his studies, he already supported GWS as a student assistant since 2019. Thereby, he applied his expertise in research activities and databases.
Since 2022, Mr. Plassenberg has been working at the GWS in the department "Wirtschaft und Soziales". His responsibilities in the area of industry analysis include catering, accommodation, tourism and other personal services. He also deals with developments in consumption, income and households from a macroeconomic perspective.
In the field of labour market research, Mr Plassenberg heads national and regional projects such as the ‘Feasibility study for monitoring skilled workers in childcare and other areas of child and youth welfare’ on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) or the ‘Study on the Effects of the Transition to a Climate-Neutral Economy on the Labour and Training Market in Brandenburg’ on behalf of the Ministry of Economics, Labour, Energy and Climate Protection (MWAEK) in Brandenburg.
