5-day training in Kazakhstan on macroeconomic evaluation of climate change impacts and climate change adaptation with the model e3.kz
The hands-on training for the e3.kz model (economy, energy, emission model for Kazakhstan) on macroeconomic evaluation of climate change impacts and climate change adaptation took place in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan) from Sept. 12-16, 2022.
Dr. Anett Großmann and Frank Hohmann (GWS) explained, discussed, and interacted with the Economic Research Institute (ERI), dem JSC Zhasyl Damu, der Kazakh-German University und der Astana IT University on these topics complemented by hands-on exercises:
- E3.kz model and its use for climate change adaptation scenarios
- E3.kz model set up (data set and E3 model relationships)
- Introductory lessons on the DIOM-X (dynamic input-output modeling in Excel) model building framework
- Introductory lessons in regression analysis in “R”
- Introductory lessons in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming
- Scenario analysis, in particular climate change and adaptation scenarios
